Sales coaching and training, built on your live deals
Training days fade. Coaching on Tuesday’s deal sticks.
Most sales training consultants deliver a workshop and a binder, and three weeks later the team sells the way it did before. What works is coaching on the deals in your pipeline, every week, until the habits stick. I coach founders, sellers and first-time sales managers through real deal reviews, and build a playbook — MEDDPICC, Challenger, Solution Selling or a simple hybrid — that your team learns on your own deals.
Based in Scottsdale, Arizona. In person across Greater Phoenix; remote with founders across the US.
The people a small sales team depends on most.
- Founders who still sell. You are good at it. You need to teach it, and to know which deals still need you.
- First sales hires. Talented sellers learning a sale nobody has written down yet.
- The top rep who became the manager. Great at closing, new to running one-on-ones, deal reviews and a forecast.
- Teams where a methodology never stuck. You bought the training. The CRM fields are still empty.
The skills that decide complex deals.
- Discovery that finds the real problem, what it costs, and the event that makes the buyer act now.
- Qualification that kills bad deals early, so the team spends its time on deals it can win.
- Reaching power. Mapping the committee and getting from a friendly contact to the person who decides.
- Negotiation and procurement. Holding value through the end of the deal instead of discounting to get it done.
- Pipeline and forecast discipline. Stages based on what the buyer has done, not what the seller hopes.
- For managers: running the cadence. One-on-ones, deal reviews and the forecast call, and coaching instead of taking over the deal.
A playbook your team will actually open.
I write the playbook with your team, in your buyer’s words: one page per stage, the questions that matter, what has to be true to move forward, and examples from your own deals. It is short on purpose. A playbook nobody reads is a binder.
For teams starting fresh, a working session to launch it — in person across Greater Phoenix — followed by weekly coaching on live deals is what makes it stick.
Sometimes the problem isn’t skill.
Coaching fixes skill. It doesn’t fix the wrong role, the wrong territory or the wrong person. When a seller is struggling, I separate the three and tell you plainly which one it is, and what I would do about it.
That honesty extends to the founder. If the team can’t sell because the ideal customer is unclear or the offer is wrong, coaching won’t fix that either, and I will say so.
Sales coaching and training, answered.
Do you run sales training workshops?
Yes, as the start of coaching, not a substitute for it. A workshop introduces the playbook. Weekly deal coaching is what changes how people sell.
Which sales methodology do you teach?
Whichever fits your sale. I have used MEDDPICC, Challenger, Solution Selling and Sandler, and for most small teams a simple hybrid works best: MEDDPICC for qualification and forecasting, plus a clear discovery and messaging approach your sellers can remember.
Can you coach a first-time sales manager?
Yes, and it is some of the most valuable work I do. A new manager who learns to run one-on-ones, deal reviews and the forecast in the first ninety days saves the company a year.
Can we hire you just for coaching?
Yes. Coaching can run on its own as advisory, priced by the day, or as part of a fractional VP of Sales engagement. We scope it on the first call.
Do you coach in person?
Across Scottsdale and Greater Phoenix, yes. Everywhere else it runs on video, built around your weekly pipeline. Phoenix and Scottsdale has more.
